  • Fire Extinguisher Training

    Fire Extinguisher Training The purpose of our fire extinguisher demonstration is to familiarize your employees with basic fire extinguisher operation. The class is taught at your facility by a licensed service instructor to meet the NFPA and OSHA stadards. Our instructor will provide training in the use of fire extinguishers and how to approach small fire emergencies. Two classes are offered. In Office Only - Employees will learn what elements make a fire, the classifications of a fire and which fire extinguisher should be used for each classification. In addition they will be shown the proper way to use a fire extinguisher. In Office With Hands On - Employees will learn what elements make a fire, the classifications of a fire and which fire extinguisher should be used for each classification. Our instructor will show your employee the proper way to use a fire extinguisher on a contained gasoline fire outside. Your employees will then have the opportunity to use the fire extinguisher and put out a fire.

  • Kitchen Systems

    Kitchen hood fire suppression systems are required to be inspected on a semi-annual basis as a minimum requirement of NFPA 17A. Our highly trained technicians can inspect and service all types of kitchen hood fire suppression systems. Our software system will keep a record of when inspections are due so you never have to worry about being delinquent on required inspections. We can also provide training in the proper use and maintenance of your system so in a fire situation everyone will be prepared to respond appropriately. Our inspection will include the following: -Check for visible signs that the system has fired, been tampered with or leaked -Disconnect system for inspection -Check cylinder condition and hydrostatic test and six-year maintenance dates on cylinder -Check all piping and conduit for rigidity -Check the regulator test date (if applicable) -Check and verify nozzles are free of blockage and properly aimed -Replace all fusible links -Check detectors and control panel (if system is electrical) -Dry test the system for automatic actuation -Dry test the system with manual release at cylinder and/or remote location -Check operation of gas shutoff and/or electrical shutoff with manual rest relay -Confirm the fuel shutoff is in the “on” position -Weigh or replace fire system cartridges as required -Check all nozzles for proper types of caps and covers -Check Chemical type and quality (if applicable) -Verify the filter type in the hood. -Verify the proper decals are installed at the remote pull station and on the hood. -Reconnect system and remove system locking tools -Complete restaurant inspection report and attach inspection tags. -Check for proper type of portable extinguishers in kitchen area (K Class) and verify they have been properly inspected

It is important to keep your system in proper working order and ensure its readiness for use. Assurance Fire & Safety, Inc. provides and installs new fire hoses to meet all of your needs. We also inspect and test fire hoses on existing fire hose systems and replace faulty hoses and/or hose racks, reels, and nozzles. Fire hoses are to be maintained and tested as follows according to NFPA 1962: In-service hose shall be unracked, unreeled or unrolled and physically inspected at lest annually. In-Service hose designed for occupant use shall be removed and service tested at intervals not exceeding five years after installation and every three years thereafter.
